Frequently Asked Questions

How do Argentina's movable holidays (feriados trasladables) work?

Under Law 27.399, four holidays move to a Monday: those falling on Tuesday or Wednesday shift to the previous Monday, and those on Thursday or Friday to the following Monday. In 2026, Güemes Day moved from 17 to 15 June and National Sovereignty Day from 20 to 23 November, while San Martín Day (17 August) and Cultural Diversity Day (12 October) already fell on Mondays.

What is a tourist bridge day (día puente) in Argentina?

Each year the government may declare up to three non-working days next to holidays to promote tourism. For 2026 these are Monday 23 March, Friday 10 July, and Monday 7 December. They are days off for the public sector, but private employers may choose whether to grant them, and working them does not earn holiday pay.
